Types of Toothpaste

Taking good care of your hygiene is important and while talking about hygiene let’s gets specifically to mouth hygiene, which is a major necessity of everyone’s life. Mouth hygiene can be well maintained with the proper usage of toothpaste, mouthwash, and toothbrush.
Selection of the right toothpaste is equally as important as of the selection of mouthwash or toothbrush. Starting with defining toothpaste, the function it does is cleaning and delivering fluoride. Mouthwash, on the other hand, is used for removing plaque. While as a toothbrush is used for removing plaque as well as gum inflammation.
Now moving back to the types, we start off with toothpaste. Toothpaste has most commonly four types. One is Standard ‘Family’ toothpaste, which generally contains 1,350-1,500 ppmF. They also comprise of mild abrasives, which provide the toothpaste its cleaning power. Detergents and flavorings are as well used. Specific toothpaste use sorbitol to provide the toothpaste a good steadiness.

Another type of toothpaste is Children’s toothpastes that comprise of less fluoride which aids in limiting the amount of floured children may swallow while brushing.
Sensitive toothpastes are mainly for soothing the nerve fibers in your teeth. They comprise of elements such as potassium or strontium.
There are also Whitening toothpastes that comprise of added ingredients that help remove stains from the enamel covering. Whitening toothpastes can be rough so you might use them only with a manual toothbrush rather than an electric toothbrush.
Natural toothpastes are also available in the market that generally comprises of herbal/plant-based ingredients and are frequently non-fluoridated.
